Dental Filling

Here is a list of Dental Filling related sites:

In order to stop the effects of tooth decay a dentist must perform a simple procedure where a Dental Filling is inserted into the infected teeth. The main purpose of fillings is to fill in missing gaps in teeth which if left open can cause further damage to the tooth and eventually can cause the tooth to be so fragile to the point it falls out. It is important to visit the dentist at the first sign of any tooth decay; you don’t want to wait too long and let your teeth fall out.

The procedure isn’t as straight forward as putting the filling the correct position. It also involves remove sections of the infected tooth so that the decay doesn’t spread. You don’t cover up the problem and expect that it won’t still be there. The problem must be removed before the dentist can successfully restore your tooth with the Dental Filling. However, if the tooth decay on the tooth is to a great extent there are several procedures which could be undertaken to save the tooth.

If the decay has reached the dental pulp located within the tooth, the only form of action would be to a have a root canal. Don’t worry, with modern technology the procedure is painless but not all root canal procedures work. After this procedure you will need to have a dental crown placed over your tooth to give back its appearance but more importantly to protect it from infection. If the decay occurs on the side of the tooth you may want to place a composite veneer over the infected area.

If you do have any signs of tooth decay remember to visit your dentist and get your Dental Filling inserted before it’s too late.
